The Flintstones' New Neighbors
Prime-time television special
(September 26, 1980)
Synopsis:
This 30-minute special is the first of The Flintstone Special limited-run prime time television revival of The Flintstones produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions which aired on NBC from 1980-1981. The episode was nominated for an Emmy Award as Outstanding Individual Achievement - Animated Programming. Artistically, the backgrounds in these specials look very much like pencil and charcoal drawings --- very different from the original series or most of the Saturday morning spin-offs.
In this episode, Fred and Wilma are reluctant to greet their new neighbors, the Frankenstones, whose house is filled with the weirdest creature comforts. The Frankenstones continue to appear thoughout the run of the specials.
